This shoot was so much fun! I don't know why it's taken me forever and a half to get these posted. Nicole was so awesome, she let me tie stuff into her hair, blind her with the sun and climb all over. I think the result made it all worth it though, these are some of my favorite pictures!! We were going for a subtle tribal look and now I keep singing the Neverland song in my head while I look at these. I hope you enjoy!
A few weeks ago I traveled to Nashville, TN to celebrate my sister's graduation from college! I am so excited and proud of her and the amazing journey she is on. She truly inspires me! After the ceremony and after the crowds had cleared we did a mini session taking pictures around Belmont's campus. Apparently, the second ceremony was taking place while we were taking pictures and a security guard was like "You're not supposed to be in there right now, are you?" tehehe
I'm finally getting back around to some posts that have been sitting in my drafts folder for far too long! During my creative shoot with Christy and May we got to do some normal sister pictures. It's so awesome that they enjoy and get to share these experiences together.
Sometimes, taking creative photos is just good for the soul and fun! I reached out to a local FB group and Christy and May contacted me right away and jumped in with both (or I guess all four) feet. They did an amazing job making their antlers and I loved getting to play with some of their leftover smoke bombs! I'm just going to put it out there, I want to play with smoke bombs probably a thousand more times lol.
Christy and May are some of the sweetest gals I've gotten to meet here and they blew me away with talent. Not only does Christy model professionally, but she is also studying to be in criminology. So, basically real life CSI! So cool! And May aspires to be the Jane Goodall of marsupials. Save the planet ladies!!
Be sure to check back for the rest of the photos from this session! There was just too much goodness for one post! I didn't want to break the internet lol
Each year in January, one of my goals for the year is to complete some kind of photo challenge. In 2012 it was a 365 project. 2014 weekly scrapbooking and 2015 a roll of film a month. (2013 was the first year I actually started "trying" with my photography lol) But, I have only succeeded once, in 2014. I usually loose steam with these projects because I don't feel like I have anything interesting to photograph. My days all seem the same or going out and finding something specific to shoot didn't fit in with real life.
So, this year I am going to try my hand at 52 creative self portraits. But that is just the goal. If I miss weeks here and there it doesn't matter. What I want to get out of this is just for the project to be a creative outlet and have fun with my photography. I want to try out new techniques and equipment and learn.

Alrighty, here are the rest of these fabulous pictures from my shoot with Piper. If I could just hang out in the woods with people up for an adventure all the time I would be happier than a clam!
I am so glad I got to meet Piper. She is the nicest, sweetest soul. We ran around in the "woods" pretending it was an enchanted fairyland. The weather was absolutely perfect! Cloudy and just a little rainy. There are so many great images from this session! Get ready to see her face a bunch!
All of my best friends. In the same city. FOR MY WEDDING!!! Craziness. We spent Friday exploring all around Seattle. We obviously went to Pike Place Market, the Gum Wall and then up into the Space Needle. We literally walked from Safeco Field and Century Link to the Space Needle! During our wanderings I tried to get a snapshot of each of my friends. They are the best!
I love taking pictures. Whether it is of people, animals or landscapes I am always running around trying to get the best shot. Just ask my husband, I am always annoying him with pictures ;).
