It was such a beautiful day as we drove through Oregon on our way to Hood River. There are so many little farms and markets on the way there that I wish we could have stopped at them all! I'm so glad we got to spend a little time in the lavender fields! So many different beautiful colors of purple. My mom and I both picked bouquets of lavender, hers for cooking, mine just cause. The wildflowers growing near the lavender and the mountain in the back was just picture perfect.
We had such a good time at the family reunion. We toured the log cabin, fed salmon, and I held a baby goat. That was a magical experience! Now I need to find a reason to have goats of my own. BBQ, s'mores and string lights. Good stuff! Definitely a good way to start summer. We took some generation pictures before we left and Mt. Hood was looking stunning as we left the driveway!
This shoot was so much fun! I don't know why it's taken me forever and a half to get these posted. Nicole was so awesome, she let me tie stuff into her hair, blind her with the sun and climb all over. I think the result made it all worth it though, these are some of my favorite pictures!! We were going for a subtle tribal look and now I keep singing the Neverland song in my head while I look at these. I hope you enjoy!
I ended up working a little bit on Memorial Day but after that it was time to get outside! We decided to go back to the Macleay Park area and check out a different part of the trail. Our starting point was the Pittock Mansion, dang is that a cool house! We couldn't go inside the house because we brought Remy, but just walking around outside and taking pictures of the flowers was good enough for me. Also, check out that view!!! All of downtown Portland and Mt. Hood. It doesn't get much better than that!
I had the pleasure of shooting with Mai of Mai Bahn Photography before we left Florida. Adrianna and Joe are probably the sweetest couple I have met! I spent a good amount of time with the groomsmen while they were getting ready and when I was waiting with Joe before the first look he told me he was a little nervous/excited. I told him that as soon as he saw his bride to be everything will feel so much more comfortable. After the first look, Joe told me he felt so much better. First looks are powerful people!
Days off are for adventuring! Even if it's raining. And besides, I love the way the light is when its raining, all dark and moody! We didn't really know where we were hiking so when we stumbled upon the Audubon, a bird rescue, we were fascinated! We got to meet and chat with a big horned owl. I love owls, and Julio was amazing. There were so many other trails to explore but eventually being out in the rain catches up to you. We will be back here again for sure!
I love taking pictures. Whether it is of people, animals or landscapes I am always running around trying to get the best shot. Just ask my husband, I am always annoying him with pictures ;).
